Kerry Vincent, Minister for Housing and Planning
Residents at Indigo Lodge are now enjoying improved accommodation following the completion of significant upgrade works at the site.
Indigo Lodge is one of Homes Tasmania’s adult supported accommodation facilities providing housing for up to 30 residents.
Minister for Housing and Planning, Kerry Vincent, said the upgrades have given residents a safer, healthier and more comfortable environment.
“We're creating an environment that supports Tasmanian's independence and wellbeing when they need it most,” Minister Vincent said.
“Having a secure roof over your head provides the stability needed to tackle the other challenges that life can throw at you.
“As a Government we’re continuing to invest significantly to ensure that Tasmanians have a roof over their head and the supports they need to succeed.”
The recently completed $4.65 million program of works included the full replacement of the building’s roof, the installation of air conditioners in all residents’ rooms and common areas, a full internal repaint, improved wireless internet infrastructure, carpet replacement, structural repairs, upgraded hot water services, and fire safety compliance works.
“Our Liberal Government is focused on delivering for Tasmanians, and this upgraded facility is a testament to that,” Minister Vincent said.
“We want to thank the Australian Government for its $3.45 million contribution through the Housing Support Program – Priority Works Stream.”
Indigo Lodge is managed by Anglicare Tasmania and provides accommodation for up to 30 residents.
