The King and Queen of Denmark will visit Tasmania as part of their upcoming Royal visit to Australia.

Premier Jeremy Rockliff said the State will host the final leg of the Royal visit in March.

“We are excited to welcome Queen Mary home as part of the Royal visit,” Premier Rockliff said.

“This will be a significant national event, and it is fitting that Tasmania is the last stop on the Royal visit.

“The is the first official visit to the State by their Majesties since 2005 – as Crown Prince and Princess of Denmark.”

The Royal visit will reflect Their Majesties’ long-standing focus on biodiversity, climate change and sustainability.

“Tasmanians and Queen Mary have a special bond, and we are delighted the King and Queen of Denmark are ending their Royal visit in our State.

“They will have the opportunity to experience our natural environment, world-class conservation efforts and leadership in sustainability.

“While full details of the Tasmanian program are yet to be confirmed, the visit will provide opportunities to showcase our State’s commitment to our unique natural heritage.”

Further information regarding the visit, including the Tasmanian itinerary, will be provided once arrangements are finalised.
