Kerry Vincent, Minister for Infrastructure and Transport

The latest funding applications for the Motor Accidents Insurance Board’s Injury Prevention Management Foundation have opened.

In 2025-26, the Foundation invested more than $1.2 million into 15 organisations and projects.

Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Kerry Vincent, said this investment will save lives.

“Road safety is a shared responsibility,” Minister Vincent said.

“Every choice we make on our roads affects everyone around us.

“While we all work to prevent crashes, accidents can still occur, and having the right road rescue equipment in place means help can get to people quickly and safely when it matters most."

In this latest round, $120,000 has been provided to the St Marys SES Unit and St Helens SES Unit for the purchase of two new 7.5 tonne Heavy Road Crash Rescue Vehicles.

“Both of the two new heavy road crash vehicles will be delivered to the St Helens SES Unit and St Marys SES Unit and are scheduled for delivery within the next 12 months," Minister Vincent said.

“They will significantly upgrade the capabilities of the local units, providing new road crash rescue tools, improving working conditions and most importantly, ensuring faster and safer access to people impacted by road crashes.

“With applications now open for 2026-27 there is a great opportunity for other interested groups around the state to get in touch about how they believe we can improve road safety.”

Information on how to apply is available on the MAIB website.

Applications close on Monday, 2 March, 2026.
