Guy Barnett, Attorney-General
Enabling works for the new Burnie Courts Complex are now complete, marking an important milestone for the project.
Tasmanian firm Batchelor Construction Group delivered the enabling works, which included the demolition and removal of existing buildings and infrastructure at the 106 Wilson Street site, clearing and readying the site for construction of the new Complex.
Attorney-General, Guy Barnett, commended Batchelor Construction Group for laying the groundwork to deliver this significant project.
“The enabling works have supported local jobs and our economy,” the Attorney said.
“We have ticked off another milestone on-time and on-budget, and now we will continue the tender process to construct the new Complex.
“It is exciting progress for this important development for Burnie and for the justice system that we now have the Development application approved, the Request for Tender live and the enabling works complete.
"The momentum is building on what will be a key piece of infrastructure for communities across the North West.
“I look forward to updating Tasmanians as this significant project continues to make progress over the coming months.”
