Jo Palmer, Minister for Education

Gail Peyton has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer for Tasmania’s first Multi-School Organisation.

Minister for Education, Jo Palmer, congratulated Ms Peyton, who was selected from a strong field of applicants as the best candidate to lead Tasmania’s first Multi-School Organisation.

“Ms Peyton brings extensive experience in system leadership and first-hand knowledge of how the Multi-School Organisation model has improved outcomes for students overseas,” Minister Palmer said.

Jason Szczerbanik will work as Interim CEO until Ms Peyton commences in the role on 1 October 2026.

“Mr Szczerbanik is an experienced Tasmanian educator and has been working closely with principals and instructional leaders from the first Multi-School Organisation schools,” Minister Palmer said.

The Tasmanian Government is continuing our work to lift learning outcomes for every student, in every school.

“At its heart, these changes are about improving learner outcomes and expanding opportunity,” Minister Palmer said.

“Working together across schools allows us to lift achievement and make a lasting difference to the lives of young Tasmanians.”
