Jane Howlett, Minister for Women and the Prevention of Family Violence

Twenty organisations across Tasmania have been awarded grants to support community driven events that celebrate women.

Minister for Women and the Prevention of Family Violence, Jane Howlett, congratulated the successful recipients of the International Women’s Day 2026 Small Grants program.

“This year we are doubling funding for the program to $40,000 in response to the high volume of events and strong community interest across Tasmania,” Minister Howlett said.

“These grants support a diverse range of practical, impactful programs delivering meaningful events in communities right across Tasmania.

“The passion and commitment shown by local organisations is inspiring.”

Recipients were selected for their strong alignment with the Equal Means Equal Strategy.

The Tasmanian Government is working together to move our State forward by supporting events that contribute to advancing gender equality and improving outcomes for women and girls.

Grants of up to $2,500 were provided to Tasmanian community organisations including:

  • Corumbene – Pink Ride to Prevention
  • Huon Women’s Health Collective – Rural Women’s Mental Health Workshop
