Guy Barnett, Minister for Small Business, Trade and Consumer Affairs

Better support for Tasmanians wishing to start or run a business is now available, with the revamped Business Tasmania website up and running.
Minister for Small Business, Trade and Consumer Affairs, Guy Barnett, said the launch of Business Tasmania’s refreshed website would offer more contemporary information across all stages of the business life cycle, while providing a positive user experience.
“This revamp followed a comprehensive review that was about ensuring the website is meeting the needs of Tasmanians,” Minister Barnett said.
“Our priority is supporting our small businesses and making sure they have access to relevant information and resources to meet their needs.
“The website review identified several opportunities to improve its offering, including the development of new and more extensive information, a refreshed appearance and better functionality.
“To give you an example, two new tools on the refreshed website are the ‘Grants and Funding Finder’, and the ‘Tools and Support Finder’.
“Whether it be a funding opportunity or a business planning template, these tools allow you to make refined searches, saving you time and giving you exactly what you are looking for.
“The new website, as with every small business initiative we’ve delivered in the past few years has been shaped by the themes and objectives of the Small Business Growth Strategy 2026.”
