Supporting child safety initiatives

Community organisations are encouraged to submit their applications for the Tasmanian Government’s Tell Someone: Child Safety Small Grants Program 2026-27.

Premier Jeremy Rockliff said the program is an important part of the Government’s​Tell Someone initiative, helping communities turn awareness into practical action that keeps children and young people safe.

“We encourage eligible organisations to take advantage of this opportunity to strengthen child safety within their communities,” Premier Rockliff said.

“We’ve seen strong engagement with the Tell Someone initiative, and these grants are helping community organisations build on that momentum through practical, locally driven initiatives.

“Local organisations are at the frontline of supporting children and young people, and this funding can help strengthen child-safe practices in ways that work for their communities.”

A total of $50,000 in grant funding is available across two tiers:

• Tier one: $500–$2,000
• Tier two: $2,001–$10,000

The grants are designed to support practical, sustainable action, from building awareness and capability to embedding long-term, child-safe approaches.

“Keeping children safe is everyone’s responsibility. This program makes sure adults in organisations and clubs have the confidence, skills and support to recognise concerns and take action when it matters most,” Premier Rockliff said.

Applications close at 2pm on Tuesday, 25 August 2026.
