Jo Palmer, Minister for Education
Schools across Tasmania are uniting to take a stand against bullying this Bullying No Way Week, with the year’s theme being Small Acts, Big Impact.
The initiative encourages students, staff and families to recognise that everyday actions can make a significant difference in helping everyone feel safe and welcome.
Minister for Education, Jo Palmer, said schools across Tasmania work hard to create safe, respectful and inclusive learning environments where students feel supported to learn and thrive.
“There is no place for bullying anywhere in our communities,” Minister Palmer said.
“This year’s theme, Small Acts, Big Impact, really puts an emphasis on how a little can go a long way.
“Through our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future, our Government continues to take strong action to tackle bullying in our schools.
“Student Support Teams work with schools and families to identify and respond to student needs, while Inclusive Practice Coaches provide targeted support to schools to help create safe and inclusive learning environments for students with complex and diverse needs.
“We’re also delivering a range of key initiatives to strengthen safety, school culture and student wellbeing, including our Violence in Schools – Keeping Staff Safe Action Plan 2026 – 2028 and Respectful Relationships Education.
“Everyone has a part to play in stamping out this behaviour, and I urge all Tasmanians - students, families, friends, and staff members alike - to call out bullying whenever they see it.”
