Have your say on future Arthur Highway improvements

The Australian and Tasmanian governments are seeking public feedback on proposed designs for future Arthur Highway upgrades from Sorell to Port Arthur.

The Australian Government has committed $200 million to the Arthur Highway Upgrades, with the Tasmanian Government contributing a further $50 million.

The proposed improvements include additional overtaking lanes at Dunalley, Taranna and Forcett, intersection upgrades at Forcett and Eaglehawk Neck, and improved pedestrian access in Dunalley.

The designs have been developed from high-priority projects identified in the Arthur Highway Road Improvement Strategy, published in April 2025.

Members of the public are invited to provide feedback on the proposed designs from 9:00am on Thursday, 27 August 2026, until 9:00am on Friday, 25 September 2026.

The designs can be viewed online at www.transport.tas.gov.au/arthur-highway-improvement-projects, or in person at:

• Sorell Council offices, 47 Cole Street, Sorell
• Tasman Council offices, 1713 Main Road, Nubeena.
