Tasmania's much-loved Tassie Scallop Fiesta has once again taken over Bridport.

Premier Jeremy Rockliff officially opened the Tassie Scallop Fiesta on Sunday.

"The festia is a major drawcard for the North East during what is traditionally the quieter months," Premier Rockliff said.

"It's a celebration of our maritime and fishing heritage - while also highlighting something our island State is known for around the globe, the quality of our seafood.

"More than 40 food and beverage stallholders were onsite serving up some of Tasmania's best.

"The fiesta draws crowds from far and wide - reinforcing the importance of delivering events just like this through our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future.

“The Tasmanian Government is supporting the delivery of the event through to 2027.”

This year’s fiesta program included chef demonstrations, a range of masterclasses, and the Scallop Splitters Challenge.

“This year's Fiesta has been a hit, and I am thrilled to see it go from strength to strength,” Premier Rockliff said.
