149 outdoor learning projects delivered

Learners right across Tasmania now have more options to learn outside the classroom following delivery of the Tasmanian Government's $10 million Outdoor Learning Program.

The program has seen 149 outdoor learning projects delivered across 147 sites around the State, with the final job completed earlier this year.

Minister for Education, Jo Palmer, said through our Government’s 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future, we’re delivering the infrastructure our learners need to succeed.

"Learning doesn't always happen within the four walls of a classroom,” Minister Palmer said.

“This program has completely transformed outdoor spaces at our schools, colleges and Child and Family Learning Centres around the state.

"From shade structures and outdoor seating through to upgraded sports courts and nature-based play areas, these modern and inclusive spaces will benefit our learners for generations to come.

“Through programs like this, we continue to back our schools and local communities to provide flexible, engaging spaces where children can learn, play and connect.”
