A Northern Tasmanian business is taking its innovative agronomy technology to the world, becoming a global success story.
Premier Jeremy Rockliff visited Bitwise Agronomy in Launceston today who have found success globally with support from the Tasmanian Government’s Accelerating Trade Grant Program.
“From right here in Launceston, Bitwise Agronomy is exporting Tasmanian technology to the world and building a global team,” Premier Rockliff said.
“Bitwise has turned ambition into international sales, including in the USA, and are now focusing on Madrid.
“Today, we celebrate Fiona and the team’s remarkable achievement of securing a one-million-dollar capital raise, an outstanding milestone for a small tech start-up, and one we wholeheartedly applaud.”
Minister for Small Business, Trade and Consumer Affairs, Guy Barnett, said businesses like Bitwise are the future of Tasmanian exports.
“Services and software with low emissions, high skills and global reach are the way of the future,” Minister Barnett said.
“As we finalise our new Tasmanian Trade Strategy, we’ll back more companies like Bitwise to scale from Tasmania to the world.
“This Liberal Government is delivering for Tasmania.
“We are working together with companies like Bitwise Agronomy to move our state forward with a commonsense approach.”
