Kerry Vincent, Minister for Infrastructure and Transport
A new three-year agreement signed between the Devonport Airport and Qantas will deliver a significant boost to North West Tasmania.
This new agreement will see an improvement in traveller amenity, stronger reliability and further activation of this regional gateway.
Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Kerry Vincent, said growing and improving Tasmania’s aviation network was vital for the entire state.
“By ensuring Tasmania is more accessible than ever before via air travel we’re setting ourselves up for success,” Minister Vincent said.
“The three-year agreement signed by Qantas and the Devonport Airport is testament to that.
“We can do this by improving traveller amenity, making air travel more accessible and in turn showing the rest of the world we’re truly open for business.
“It’s through initiatives like this, as we work together to move our state forward, we will see continued prosperity, particularly in our regions.
“Sustainable, year-round flights coming in and out of Devonport unlocks business and tourism opportunities and delivers certainty for more Tasmanians.
“Through our 2030 Visitor Economy Strategy, this Liberal Government will continue to deliver for Tasmanians.
“I look forward to this partnership providing benefits for the entire state.”
