Jane Howlett, Minister for Women and the Prevention of Family Violence
Tasmanian women are being invited to join the Tasmanian Women’s Council.
Minister for Women and the Prevention of Family Violence, Jane Howlett, said the five vacancies on the council create an incredible opportunity for Tasmanian women to help shape the future of our state.
“This is about women supporting women and building a Tasmania where every woman and girl has the opportunity to thrive,” Minister Howlett said.
The Tasmanian Women’s Council provides independent advice to the Tasmanian Government on issues affecting women and girls and plays a key role in guiding the Equal Means Equal: Tasmanian Women’s Strategy 2022-2027.
“We want to hear from women of all walks of life because their voices and perspectives are essential," Minister Howlett said.
“We need a council that reflects the rich diversity of women’s lives and experiences across Tasmania.
“By working together, we can tackle the challenges, celebrate the successes, and ensure gender equality remains a priority as we move our state forward.”
Expressions of interest close at 11.59pm on 16 October.
