Madeleine Ogilvie, Minister for the Arts and Heritage
Heritage property owners are encouraged to submit applications for the latest round of the Built Heritage Grants Scheme which are now open.
Minister for Arts and Heritage, Madeleine Ogilvie, said the Scheme aims to ensure Tasmania’s built heritage places are valued, protected and maintained for the benefit of our State and the community.
“Tasmania’s heritage properties stand as living testaments to our shared history,” Minister Ogilvie said.
“These structures require constant repair and care, which is often a costly endeavour.
“The Tasmanian Government’s Built Heritage Grants Scheme is investing $4.5 million over three years to support the State’s historic heritage sector and to support the revitalisation of our unique heritage properties.
“We are delivering for Tasmanians by working together with owners of these properties to ensure they are around for decades to come.”
Round 3 of the heritage grants scheme comprises two programs.
The Small Grants Program of up to $20,000 will support state-registered heritage owners to undertake small heritage conservation and restoration.
The Large Grants Program is targeted towards heritage property owners, skills development organisations and the community to activate heritage places and engage community support for built heritage.
This round follows a successful Round 2 which delivered funding for 40 Tasmanian heritage properties.
Applicants are encouraged to read the Guidelines before submitting an application.
