The Tasmanian Government has today released the Primary Produce Safety (Horticulture Produce) Regulations 2025 for public consultation.

“By ensuring our framework is fit for purpose, we are backing in our horticulture sector to implement national food safety standards and maintain market access.

“Our Government is delivering real outcomes for our growers, ensuring the right settings are in place so they can get on with what they do best.”

Industry representatives from TasFarmers, Berries Australia, Fruit Growers Tasmania, and Sprout Tasmania will be actively involved in the consultation process with producers who will be subject to the new regulations.

Submissions on the regulations must be made in writing and emailed to: product.integrity@nre.tas.gov.au by 5pm Friday 5 December 2025.
