Jo Palmer, Minister for Children and Youth
Each year Children’s Week honours the right of children to enjoy their childhood and celebrates their important achievements.
The Tasmanian Government remains strongly committed to ensuring that all children and young people are learning, safe and thriving every day.
Minister for Children and Youth, Jo Palmer, said the 2025 Children’s Week theme – Everyone should know about Children’s Rights! – champions the rights of children to thrive, play, and to be heard.
“This is a time to recognise and value children’s talents, skills and contributions in every community,” Minister Palmer said.
“There are many exciting opportunities for children to become involved this week at free, family-friendly activities and events around Tasmania.
“I encourage you to find out what is happening in your community and to join in the fun.
“Together we can help to build the foundations for children to thrive, with bright lives and positive futures.”
Children’s Week is a national event held annually around the fourth Wednesday in October, promoting awareness of children’s rights as set out in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Led by the Children’s Week Council of Australia, Children’s Week 2025 will be held between 18 October – 26 October.
