The Tasmanian Government is celebrating the contribution that older Tasmanians make to communities throughout the State this Seniors Week.

Seniors Week 2025 runs from 13 to 19 October, with a program of events taking place across the State coordinated by Council on the Ageing Tasmania focusing on this year’s theme, Connecting Generations through Food.

Attending a Seniors Week event today in Launceston hosted by The District Nurses and Launceston City Mission, Minister for Ageing, Bridget Archer, said the week is about connection, celebration, and community.

“Older Tasmanians are immensely important in our community, and we recognise the significant contributions they make to our society,” Minister Archer said.

“As our State’s first Minister for Ageing, I’m focused on working with partners across all levels of government and the community to support our older Tasmanians to live enriching and healthy lives, dealing with the challenges that they face with compassion and commonsense.

“The District Nurses and Launceston City Mission are two valued partners in this mission, and I thank them for welcoming me at their Seniors Week celebration today.”
