Jane Howlett, Minister for Women and the Prevention of Family Violence
The Tasmanian Government is working together with women in our business sector to move our state forward.
Speaking at the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chamber Change launch today, Minister for Women and the Prevention of Family Violence, Jane Howlett, said support for women in business helps to keep our economy strong.
“There are a great many women working in business who don’t consider themselves leaders, yet they have all the attributes of a great leader,” Minister Howlett said.
“Support for business owners to thrive, adapt and innovate is positive for them and for our economy.
“This program being rolled out by the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a great initiative for aspiring and current women small business owners.
“As a former small business owner myself, I understand the importance of leadership training for women.
“By empowering aspiring female leaders through mentoring, coaching and training, our community is the beneficiary.”
Chamber Change: Small Business is a pioneering women-in-business program designed for female leaders and business owners, which is being rolled out nationally.
Led by the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) and the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), and supported by the TCCI, the initiative is set to transform small business leadership opportunities for women.
The program will be run in Hobart between 9 October and 20 November, 2025.
