Tasmania’s hospitality businesses continue to shine, picking up six awards at the AHA National Awards for Excellence.
Minister for Tourism, Hospitality and Events, Jane Howlett, congratulated the businesses, located all over the state, on their success.
“Tasmania is one of Australia’s most desirable destinations and the calibre of our tourism and hospitality businesses is among the drawcards,” Minister Howlett said.
“Congratulations to each of the winners who are among those setting the bar for best practice in the sector.
“There is much to celebrate about Tasmania’s tourism and hospitality sector, from our top restaurants and tourist attractions to the many winemakers and vineyards.
“I encourage all Tasmanians to get out and about and support our small businesses and hospitality sector.”
Winners at the awards were:
- Hotel Industry Rising Star (General Division): Matthew Bomford St Albi Bar & Eatery
- Best Luxury Accommodation: Saffire Freycinet
- Excellence in Innovation, Sustainability and Energy Efficiency Practice: Iron Creek Bay Estate
- Best Marketed Hotel – General Division: Shoreline Hotel
- All Abilities Hotel – Accommodation Division: MACq01
- All Abilities Hotel – General Division: The Plough Inn
