Felix Ellis, Minister for Business, Industry and Resources
Tasmania’s leading exporters are set to represent the state at the National Export Awards in Canberra tonight, showcasing the strength and diversity of the state’s export sector.
Minister for Business, Industry and Resources, Felix Ellis, congratulated the Tassie businesses ahead of tonight’s Awards.
“Tasmania’s exporters are critical to the state’s prosperity, and seeing the hard work and dedication of so many Tasmanians recognised on the national stage is fantastic,” Minister Ellis said.
“Exports are integral to Tasmania’s economy, supporting thousands of jobs and delivering opportunities for businesses right across the state.
“Tasmania’s trade performance continues to deliver strong results, with combined goods and services trade reaching $6.16 billion in 2023–24.
“This is up 5.2 per cent on the previous year, helping to strengthen our economy and support Tasmanian jobs.”
Tasmanian representation at the National Export Awards highlights the breadth of Tasmanian enterprise, from premium food and beverage producers to sophisticated advanced manufacturers and world-class arts and design.
Minister Ellis said these businesses were taking Tasmania to the world and reinforcing our reputation for quality, innovation and excellence.
“Tasmania has what the world wants, and these awards provide a platform to celebrate the achievements of Tasmanian businesses competing on the global stage,” Minister Ellis said.
