Madeleine Ogilvie, Minister for Community and Multicultural Affairs
The Tasmanian Government is working closely with the community services industry to keep Tasmanians supported, connected and healthy.
The Community Services Industry Plan (2021-31) represents the collaboration with the community services to deliver a stronger future workforce that is more sustainable.
Minister for Community and Multicultural Affairs, Madeleine Ogilvie, recently met with community service industry representatives and TasCOSS to work through the recommendations from an Industry Plan Governance Review.
“The Review is an important step in ensuring there continues to be a strong and effective governance structure in place to oversee the delivery of the Industry Plan,” Minister Ogilvie said.
“Together with the sector, we are progressing work toward longer-term funding agreements and an outcomes framework.
“I appreciated the opportunity to meet with the industry to consider how Government and the community services industry can work together to address matters, such as reducing red tape and the practice of multi-deed arrangements.”
Adrienne Picone, CEO, TasCOSS said, the discussions had been productive.
“We welcome the opportunity to work in true partnership with the Government to address the longstanding challenges faced by the community services industry, such as rising costs of doing business and increased demand for services,” Ms Picone said.
A working group to progress recommendations from the Industry Plan Governance Review has been established.
“I was also very pleased to recently meet with the Tasmanian Coalition of Community Service Peaks, and I look forward to continued engagement in these discussions as we progress this ongoing and important work with the industry,” Minister Ogilvie said.
