Madeleine Ogilvie, Minister for Community and Multicultural Affairs
A new advisory council will allow the State’s multicultural communities and organisations to provide advice and insights about issues affecting culturally and linguistically diverse Tasmanians.
Minister for Community and Multicultural Affairs, Madeleine Ogilvie, said expressions of interest were now open for inaugural membership of the new Tasmanian Ministerial Multicultural Advisory Council.
“All Tasmanians have a role to play in ensuring our State remains a harmonious and inclusive island,” Minister Ogilvie said.
“We will always seek to empower culturally and linguistically diverse Tasmanians to achieve their full potential.
“Through the Council, we will work together with communities to deliver for Tasmania.”
The Council is seeking up to five individual community members and two organisation representatives that will assist in shaping government programs and services.
This includes sharing their views on implementing Tasmania’s five-year Multicultural Action Plan: Embracing Diversity and Fostering Belonging.
Culturally and linguistically diverse Tasmanians and representatives from organisations with a range of experiences, backgrounds and skills are encouraged to apply.
The closing date for expressions of interest is 16 January 2026.
