Guy Barnett, Minister for Small Business, Trade and Consumer Affairs
A discussion paper on cutting red tape and duplication through a single permit process for start-up businesses has been released.
Minister for Small Business, Trade and Consumer Affairs, Guy Barnett, said the Tasmanian Government is delivering on its commitment to release the discussion paper in our first 100 days.
“Cutting red tape and reducing duplication is a top priority for our Government,” Minister Barnett said.
“We know one of the difficulties people face when starting a new business is the time and duplication involved in applying for multiple permits, licenses and registrations.
“Small business is the backbone of our economy, and we want to make it as simple as possible for Tasmanians to start up new businesses, creating jobs and growing the economy.”
Public and stakeholder feedback is now being sought on the discussion paper and developing a single permit process.
Consultation on the discussion paper begins today and will be open until Friday 16 January.
The discussion paper is available here.
