Leading business confidence backed in by strong business conditions

Tasmania is leading the nation in business confidence, confirmed by the latest NAB Monthly Business Survey.

This welcome news is backed in by the Business Council of Australia's 'Regulation Rumble' released today, showing Tasmania has the second best business conditions in the nation.

Premier Jeremy Rockliff said these are positive signs for the business sector leading into the busy Christmas period.

"Tasmania is once again punching above its weight and leading the nation in a number of key business indicators," the Premier said.

"Our economy is strong and worth a record $40.6 billion and growing.

"Unemployment continues to be the lowest in the nation and wage growth remains strong.

"More than 51,000 new jobs have been created since we came to Government, ensuring opportunity is more attainable for Tasmanians than ever before.

"This Liberal Government is delivering for Tasmania and will continue to back in our businesses and jobs at every turn."
