Jane Howlett, Minister for Women and the Prevention of Family Violence

The 2026 International Women’s Day Small Grants Program has officially opened.
The Tasmanian Government is proud to support initiatives that advance gender equality and celebrate the achievements of women and girls across the state.
Minister for Women and the Prevention of Family Violence, Jane Howlett, invited community organisations to apply for funding to host events and activities that champion women’s leadership, resilience and contribution.
“International Women’s Day is more than a celebration, it’s a call to action,” Minister Howlett said.
“Through the Equal Means Equal Strategy, we’re working to remove barriers and create lasting change so that Tasmanian women and girls can thrive.
“These grants are an opportunity for communities to come together, share stories, and inspire progress.
“We are delivering for Tasmania by supporting local community groups and organisations across to get involved.”
Individual grants of up to $2,500 are available to support events held on or around 8 March 2026. Applications close 23 December 2025.
Projects that promote inclusion, raise awareness of gender equality, and reflect the diverse experiences of Tasmanian women are strongly encouraged.
