Jane Howlett, Minister for Tourism, Hospitality and Events
Bookings are expected to flow to tourism and hospitality venues on the East Coast following the release of the program for the 2026 ECHO Festival, which runs from March 13 to 15.
Minister for Tourism, Hospitality and Events, Jane Howlett, said ECHO has become a joyful celebration of the East Coast, its landscapes, its people and its unique way of life since its inception in 2019.
“This festival of the senses has explored the region’s stories and its traditions of harvest through performance, hands-on experiences and exceptional local produce,” Minister Howlett said.
“It’s been wonderful to see ECHO grow into a fixture on the East Coast events calendar and I acknowledge the hard work of Ange Boxall and Christie Sweeting, and all their volunteers and supporters, which earned ECHO a silver medal at the 2025 Tasmanian Tourism Awards.
“The Tasmanian Government is delivering for Tasmanians and is proud to support ECHO to deliver the festival to 2027.”
The first program release for 2026 is out now and includes First Nations and Tasmanian Aboriginal storytelling, the Native Bounty Feast, live music and performances, morning yoga at Swansea Beach Chalets, and of course, plenty of outstanding local food and beverage.
“Events like ECHO encourage visitors to explore the East Coast, its beaches, towns, food, wine and the warm hospitality the region is known for,” Minister Howlett said.
“I hope the festival continues to share the stories of the East Coast for many years to come, and I encourage everyone to explore the program and secure your tickets.”
