Felix Ellis, Minister for Business, Industry and Resources

The Tasmanian Government has established a Bell Bay Response Team, ensuring the region remains strong and supported.

Minister for Business, Industry and Resources, Felix Ellis, said the Bell Bay region is strong and the Tasmanian Government is committed to working with industry and the community to ensure it has a vibrant future.

“The Tasmanian Government is committed to identifying actions and opportunities to support businesses and the community now and into the future,” Minister Ellis said.

“This is about partnerships. It’s about listening, sharing information, and working to keep the region resilient into the future.”

The Tasmanian Government will also continue constructive engagement with the Australian Government to ensure national support remains aligned with the strategic importance of the Bell Bay industrial zone.

The Response Team recently met for the first time, bringing together local industry, community and government representatives for a constructive and productive discussion.

“Our focus is on local jobs, community confidence and the long-term strength of Northern Tasmania’s industrial base,” Minister Ellis said.

The Bell Bay Response Team will meet regularly, with the next meeting expected in mid-December.
