Kerry Vincent, Minister for Housing and Planning
A 65-unit affordable rental development has been opened today, delivering more homes for more Tasmanians.
The Tasmanian Government invested more than $26.5 million into the Queens Walk project.
Minister for Housing and Planning, Kerry Vincent, said this official opening is a significant day for Tasmania.
"Projects just like this can change the lives of every Tasmanian that comes through its doors," Minister Vincent said.
"This is a prime example of the infill development we want to see more of - medium-density on vacant urban land, closer to services and employment at an affordable price, is the future of our cities.
"These 65 new units are another important milestone as we work to deliver 10,000 additional social and affordable homes by 2032.
"I want to thank Fairbrother and Housing Choices Tasmania for their assistance and fine work in delivering this development.
"This Liberal Government is delivering more homes for Tasmanians and are supporting developments like this around the state."
