Jo Palmer, Minister for Education
The Tasmanian Liberal Government is inviting expressions of interest (EOIs) from early childhood education and care (ECEC) providers and services that may be interested in establishing new facilities and services on Tasmanian Government school sites.
Minister for Education, Jo Palmer, said the Tasmanian Government understands the importance of access to quality early childhood education and care for working Tasmanian families.
“The ECEC sector plays a critical role in supporting children and their families during the formative early years of a child’s life,” Minister Palmer said.
“Under our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future, the Tasmanian Government has audited Government land and will release suitable surplus land adjacent to Government school sites for the provision and expansion of new ECEC services.
“I encourage ECEC providers to provide feedback as part of the EOI process on particular sites and locations where opportunities would be the most viable and attractive.
“We also want to hear about ECEC market interest in the proposed conditions for the use of land.
“Our strong focus is on giving children the best possible start in life and learning, and improving access to early education, regardless of where you live or family circumstances.”
The EOI will close on 20 June 2025. For further information, visit the DECYP website.
