The Australian Musical Theatre Festival is back, promising an extraordinary five-day celebration of musical theatre.
Minister for Sports and Events, Nick Duigan said the vibrant event will transform Launceston and its surrounding areas into a hub of creativity and performance, with bespoke musical theatre performances in both traditional and non-traditional settings.
“Through our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future, we are proud to support the festival's delivery in 2024, 2025, and 2026,” Minister Duigan said.
“This funding emphasises our commitment to fostering the arts and enhancing the cultural landscape of Tasmania.”
The festival is a unique opportunity for attendees to engage with top-tier professionals through panel discussions, educational programs, masterclasses, and workshops.
“These activities are designed to connect and upskill local practitioners, ensuring the continued growth and excellence of Tasmania's arts community,” Minister Duigan said.
“Events like the Australian Musical Theatre Festival are a fantastic opportunity to promote Tasmania’s tourism offerings, boost economic growth and showcase the state as a cultural destination.
“By investing in the development of our local talent, we are laying the foundation for an arts scene that will continue to draw tourists to our state."
The event takes place from May 20 to May 24.
