Nick Duigan, Minister for Parks

Repair works at St Columba Falls are complete, with the popular walking track reopening to visitors ahead of the busy holiday period.

Minister for Parks, Nick Duigan, said the track had sustained extensive damage following a severe weather event in 2024.

“Visitors to the north-east corner of our state will once again be able to enjoy the spectacular scenery at St Columba Falls, one of Tasmania’s 60 Great Short Walks,” Minister Duigan said.

“Extensive repairs to stabilise the site have been completed. These works include reinforced retaining walls, safety railings and barrier fencing, a new bridge and visitor information booth.

“Minor tidy-up works are still underway, however do not impact the visitor experience.”

The project was delivered by George Town company CPT Engineering.

“I’d like to thank the community and local businesses for their patience while these essential works were undertaken to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors,” Minister Duigan said.

“We’re delivering for Tasmania by investing in our parks for Tasmanians and visitors alike.”
