Madeleine Ogilvie, Minister for Community and Multicultural Affairs

Community organisations and local councils can now apply for grant funding for events and festivals to help celebrate new and emerging communities that make up our great state.

Minister for Community and Multicultural Affairs, Madeleine Ogilvie, said the 2025-26 Multicultural Community Festivals Small Grants Program was now open.

“Tasmania’s diverse community is one of our greatest strengths,” Minister Ogilvie said.

“It’s a huge part of who we are and something that deserves to be both celebrated and supported.

“We want to continue backing in our state’s rich culture by showcasing community events and festivals to bring Tasmanians together to learn and share.

“This is the second round of this grants program, which plays an important part in highlighting new and emerging cultures and traditions across Tasmania.”

Applicants can receive up to $5,000 in funding for their multicultural festival or event.

“We are excited to be continuing our support for the fostering of intercultural understanding and respect,” Minister Ogilvie said.

“The Tasmanian Government will always be committed to our vison of Tasmania for a harmonious, inclusive and respectful multicultural island where all Tasmanians belong, and are enabled to contribute and achieve.”
