Tasmanians can now access government services anytime, anywhere on the new myServicesTas app.
The myServiceTas app is available on the Apple and Android app stores and is an expansion to the myServiceTas web portal launched in April 2024.
Premier Jeremy Rockliff said the Tasmanian Government is making it easier and faster for people to renew their driver’s licence or vehicle with the implementation of the new app.
“Over 192,000 Tasmanians now have a myServiceTas account, which confirms that online options are a popular choice for many people,” Premier Rockliff said.
“There have been 168,000 vehicle registration renewals, 26,000 licence renewals, and almost 10,000 new drivers sign up for Plates Plus.
“We will continue to expand the services available on the app over time, including temporary upgrade permits for heavy vehicles and connecting to the Marine and Safety Tasmania portal for boat licencing, registration and moorings, as well as online identity verification for Working with Vulnerable People renewals.”
The app will allow myServiceTas account holders to log in quickly and securely with face, fingerprint or PIN identification.
Premier Rockliff said digital renewal notices will be delivered to their myServiceTas inbox, a task list includes reminders of when things are due, and you can get push notifications direct to email or text.
“As the festive season approaches, we all have plenty of things to get done, so download the app and tick another task off your list.”
The myServiceTas app complements Service Tasmania’s 27 centres, phone services and website.
