Adult Learners Week 2025 will be celebrated at libraries across Tasmania next week, marking the national initiative that champions the power of lifelong learning.
From 1 – 8 September, adults of all ages are invited to take part in a week of free, hands-on events at local libraries across the State.
Minister for Education, Jo Palmer, congratulated Libraries Tasmania on 30 years of celebrating Adult Learners Week.
“Our libraries are the lifeblood of our communities - they’re open, welcoming and inclusive spaces where every Tasmanian can discover the joy of learning at any age,” Minister Palmer said.
“I encourage everyone to get involved at their library to celebrate Adult Learners Week.
“Our Government is developing stronger communities and enhancing our regions, and we know investing in literacy and numeracy skills benefits all Tasmanians.”
Local libraries have free programs and services to support adult learning.
This year also marks 65 years of Adult Learning Australia, making it a double milestone for adult education.
Tasmania is hosting the national launch of Adult Learners Week this year at the Paranaple Arts Centre in Devonport on Monday 1 September.
