Seven Tasmanian businesses have spent the week showcasing their products at Australia’s leading food and beverage trade exhibition, Fine Food Australia in Melbourne.
Celebrating 40 years of food connections, Fine Food Australia annually welcomes thousands of food industry professionals as Australia’s leading gourmet food and beverage trade exhibition.
Premier and Minister for Trade and Major Investment, Jeremy Rockliff, said supporting emerging exporters to grow their exports was a key part of the Government’s long-term plan to grow Tasmania’s export trade to $15 billion by 2050.
“We know that attending trade events and trade shows generates significant benefits for Tasmanian businesses, and showcases Tasmania’s world-class produce to new markets,” Mr Rockliff said.
“Part of our Tasmanian Trade Strategy 2019-2025 includes building Tasmania’s export capability.
For four of the Tasmanian business it was their first time attending a business-to-business tradeshow.
“As part of our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future we are taking Tasmanian products to the world and growing our export markets,” Premier Rockliff said.
“Visitors to the TASMANIAN stand got a taste of iconic Tasmanian products such as spirits, fresh oysters, cold-smoked bacon and artisan cheese.
“This event provides a fantastic opportunity for exporters and emerging exporters to connect with both national and international buyers, expand their market reach and ink new contracts.
“These businesses represent the innovation, high standards and sustainability that underpin the Tasmanian reputation for quality as a leader in premium food and beverage production,” he said.
