Simon Behrakis, Liberal Member for Clark

After 10 years in Opposition and failing to deliver an alternative Budget in that time, the Parliament has called on Labor to change its ways.

The Labor Party has been dragged kicking and screaming to deliver a long-awaited alternative Budget.

The Opposition must now be honest with Tasmanians about the $2 billion in savage cuts, including $170 million in health cuts they announced during the election campaign.

Labor might have a new leader and a new Treasury spokesperson, but it’s really just the same old Labor.

Dean Winter and Josh Willie strongly opposed the Motion, however, the Parliament has called on them to come clean on their plans for Tasmania.

The Tasmanian Government will deliver a Budget tomorrow that includes record investment in Tasmania’s essential services and continues our job-creating $5.1 billion infrastructure agenda.

It also delivers on our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future and will make life more affordable.
