Jeremy Rockliff, Premier

The Tasmanian Government has welcomed the passage of the 2024-25 State Budget through the House of Assembly.

Premier Jeremy Rockliff said the 2024-25 Budget drives the delivery of the Government’s 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future, which takes action right now on the things that matter to Tasmanians and makes life more affordable.

“The Budget secures record investment in our essential services, including in health, education and housing to develop stronger communities.

“The budget also builds upon the Government’s strong commitment to infrastructure.

“We are continuing to invest in the future of Tasmania with our $5.1 billion commitment to infrastructure over the next four years. This investment ensures we continue to boost our economy, create jobs and make our State the best place to live, work and raise a family.”

“Importantly, it will:

  • Provide immediate relief to Tasmanians amidst the rising cost of living;
  • Grow our frontline workforce with more doctors, nurses, paramedics, teachers and police;
  • Supporting our hardworking community organisations and volunteers; and
  • Enable our key industries and businesses to invest and employ.”
