Jacquie Petrusma, Minister for Veterans’ Affairs

More than 100 concessions and discounts have been released by the Tasmanian Government to make life more affordable for Tasmanians.

Premier, Jeremy Rockliff, and Veterans Affairs Minister, Jacquie Petrusma, launched this year’s concessions and discounts guide at Lenah Valley RSL.

“Our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future is all about taking action on the things that matter most to Tasmanians like cost of living, health, housing and education.

“This guide will offer $460 million in concessions and discounts to make life more affordable for eligible Tasmanians.”

Minister for Veterans Affairs, Jacquie Petrusma, said the Tasmanian Government is committed to supporting Tasmanians with the cost of living.

“Our Government is delivering initiatives to ease these pressures, especially for our veterans,” Minister Petrusma said.

“This year’s guide includes a number of concessions and discounts for our veteran community across energy bills, transport, healthcare and councils rates.

“Implementing measures to support those who are most in need, including Tasmanians on low and fixed incomes, seniors and people with a disability, helps to ease financial pressure.”

New Concessions in the 2024-25 guide include half price public transport fares and abolishing stamp duty, which are key cost of living initiatives under the Government’s 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future.

A free copy of the Guide is available at Service Tasmania centres, Libraries, local councils, Neighbourhood Houses, Men’s Sheds, community organisations, service providers and Tasmanian and Australian Government offices from 31 October 2024.
