Tasmanian audiences are set to be dazzled by Theatre Royal’s 2025 season with the jam-packed program released.

Theatre Royal has unveiled a program of 22 works spanning a range of artforms including music, dance, stand-up comedy, circus and theatre performed by a diverse combination of local, national and international artists.

Minister for the Arts and Heritage, Madeleine Ogilvie, said the Tasmanian Government were strong supporters of the Theatre Royal and Tasmania’s performing arts.

“Theatre Royal has once again programmed a spectacular year of performance for Tasmanian audiences, offering an incredible range of world-class experiences across many genres for people of all ages,” Minister Ogilvie said.

“Ten of the 22 works programmed are by local companies, which is a fantastic reflection on the level of homegrown creative talent we have in our state as our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future is delivering creative sector opportunities around the state.

“Among the 2025 program’s local favourites are Terrapin, with its two works, the premiere of Goldfish, which will be presented as part of Ten Days on the Island, and Feathers, for the Staycation school holiday program.

“We are so fortunate to have a venue such as the Theatre Royal to provide access to these cultural experiences, and I encourage all Tasmanians to get to the theatre next year to support our performing arts.”
