Nick Duigan, Minister for Sports and Events

World champions, world record holders, and Olympic heroes are just some of the incredible achievements made by this year’s Tasmanian Athlete of the Year finalists.

Minister for Sports and Events, Nick Duigan, said the finalists had made Tasmanians proud after outstanding years in their respective sporting fields.

“I congratulate all finalists on their fantastic achievements this year – all of whom represented Tasmania and Australia on the international stage,” Minister Duigan said.

“Our athletes have shown true dedication to the spirit of sport, inspiring future generations to pursue excellence.

"They have proven that through hard work, teamwork, and an unwavering commitment to their goals, greatness is possible.

“That’s why our Government, through our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future, is committed to giving Tasmanians the sporting infrastructure they need to succeed.”

Judging for the Award is based on athlete performance, contribution to the athlete’s sport and the Tasmanian sporting community across November 2023 to October 2024.

The five finalists are:
