Eric Abetz, Minister for Business, Industry and Resources

The Labor Opposition’s true colours will be tested today with Labor being forced to choose between backing in Tasmania’s forestry industry or jumping back into bed with the Greens who want to destroy forestry jobs.

Labor’s new leader’s façade is at risk of being unmasked with the Greens motion to attack forestry workers to be voted on this afternoon in Parliament.

Just last night, Labor reverted back to their true anti-industry, anti-development and anti-jobs colours by teaming up with the Greens to block the Government’s red tape reducing amendments to the Historic Cultural Heritage Amendment Bill 2024.

It is becoming clearer by the day that this is the same old Labor Opposition.

Beholden to the Unions and stifling development in Tasmania by teaming up with the economy-destroying Greens.

Labor has long been at war with each other over sustainable native forestry with the intensifying pressure to support ending the industry by its own activist members, as well as the Tasmanians Greens.

Will Labor join with the Greens again today and vote to put our hardworking forestry jobs at risk?

Tasmanians will be watching.
