Delivering for Bass

  • $364 million in the Launceston General Hospital Redevelopment, including the Mental Health Precinct and the Northern Health Complex;
  • $145m for improvements to the Bass Highway – Devonport to Launceston;
  • Upgrades to the East and West Tamar Highway;
  • $7.5m for Launceston Park and Ride facilities;
  • $2m for the Launceston and Tamar Valley Traffic Vision to address congestion;
  • Upgrades at South George Town Primary School, Mowbray Heights Primary School and Port Dalrymple School;
  • Delivering our Healthy School Lunch Program at Beaconsfield Primary, Invermay Primary, Legana Primary, Port Dalrymple, Ravenswood Primary, and Waverley Primary School;
  • Delivering and progressing upgrades to school playgrounds and sports courts;
  • $10m for a new purpose-built Launceston Convention Centre;
  • Investing in Therapeutic Services in the Northern Arch Centre;
  • Invest in economy-boosting events, including Festivale, Junctions Arts Festival and the V8 Supercars;
  • $2.2m to support the Elphin Sports Centre;
  • $2.5m for the Tamar Island Wetlands Boardwalk replacement; and
  • $800,000 for a new Management Plan for Ben Lomond National Park and priority upgrades to tracks and visitor infrastructure to support year round recreation.

Dorset and Flinders Island Regions

  • Improve safety and efficiency as part of the Tasman Highway Sideling upgrades;
  • $800,000 to deliver an upgrade for the Ringarooma Primary School;
  • Deliver a new Child and Family Learning Centre at Scottsdale;
  • Delivering our Healthy School Lunch Program at Bridport Primary, Cape Barren Island Primary, Flinders Island and Winnaleah District High School;
  • $300,000 to fund the Better Health for Dorset community prevention program;
  • $250,000 to fund a new Derby Master Plan; and
  • Delivering and progressing upgrades to school playgrounds and sports courts at Flinders Island District High School, Scottsdale High School and Winnaleah District High School.
