Message from the Treasurer
The 2025–26 interim Budget has been prepared under a significantly compressed timeframe.
Despite that challenge, it is a Budget that gets on with the job of delivering for Tasmania.
Tasmania has weathered a challenging economic environment over recent years, with our economy now at a record $40.6 billion.
Our focus is clear: we will protect essential services, be fiscally responsible and reduce debt over the medium term.
This is a Budget that balances our strong economic and social achievements with a clear need to respond to the challenges we face.
