Further boost for Tasmanian tourism jobs

Today I am pleased to announce we will be providing a further $5 million to support a second release of the Make Yourself at Home Travel Voucher initiative, bringing our total investment in encouraging Tasmanians to explore their own state to $12.5 million.

This release will take place on the 30th of September, with the tranche two vouchers available for use from that date until the end of November.

Registrations will open at 7.00pm on the evening of Wednesday the 30th September allowing those who were busy during the morning when the first round of vouchers opened, a chance to apply this time around.

Tasmanians will again be able to claim a voucher through the Make Yourself at Home website, and to support those without digital access, Tasmanians will also be able to register by contacting the call centre on 1800 344 077 between 7pm and 9pm that evening.

Around 800 vouchers have already been redeemed from the first round and the early feedback from businesses has been very positive. This second release of our Make Yourself at Home Travel Voucher program is another example, and clear evidence, of our commitment to Tasmanian businesses and to the Tasmanians they employ.

We will continue to be innovative, to be proactive and focus on solutions to take our state forward, to keep supporting our businesses and Tasmanian jobs, and rebuild a stronger Tasmania.
