The redevelopment of a popular penguin viewing platform has been completed, providing a quality tourism attraction in the North-West.
The $245,000 project was funded by Tourism Infrastructure in Parks program and is located at the Lillico Beach Conservation Area west of Devonport.
The platform can now cater for more than 100 visitors during peak season following the demolition and replacement of the old treated pine structure.
Red LED lights have also been installed to improve visitor experiences in the dark, while causing minimal disturbance to the penguins.
The Hodgman Liberal Government is committed to making Tasmania the environmental tourism capital of the world.
We know the popularity of penguin viewing experiences is a major drawcard, attracting just under 10,000 visitors over the 2017/18 summer season.
