Achieving Skills Growth through Collaboration

The Minister for State Growth, Matthew Groom today opened Tasmania’s annual Skills and Workforce Development Conference, with the theme ‘Growth through collaboration’.

Collaboration is strong in our training and workforce development system between training organisations, industry, employers and community groups.

When we work together, there is no reason why we can’t have skilled and competitive enterprises based in Tasmania that are the best in the world at what they do.

The Conference coincides with the launch of the 2016 Ministerial Priorities for Training and Workforce Development.

The Priorities focus on building a competitive workforce, increasing entrepreneurial capacity, and supporting high-quality and responsive training.

They are accompanied by clear actions to grow Tasmania’s economic prosperity and social resilience by increasing the capability and productivity of our workforce.

We will be ensuring that Tasmanian businesses can reach their full potential and have access to the skilled workers they need to grow and expand.
