Recognising excellence in STEM in 2022

Just a few days remain to nominate Tasmania’s top STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) practitioners.

With a total prize pool of $35,000, the annual Tasmanian STEM Excellence Awards acknowledge our local scientific achievers and showcase their achievements across their core fields of study and research.

Our science and technology sectors have a proud record of producing many innovations and efficiencies that benefit all Tasmanians through the delivery of knowledge, products and services that improve our quality of life and help other sectors grow.

The Tasmanian Government is proud to again partner with the University of Tasmania and Inspiring Australia to deliver the awards, with applications open across these six categories:

* The Premier’s Tasmanian STEM Researcher of the Year;
* Tasmanian STEM Early Career Researcher of the Year;
* The Minister’s Tasmanian STEM Innovation of the Year;
* Tasmanian STEM Teacher of the Year for Primary Years;
* Tasmanian STEM Teacher of the Year for Secondary Years and
* Tasmanian STEM Communicator of the Year.

Now in its seventh year, the awards program provides well-deserved recognition to our foremost STEM professionals, highlights the importance of innovation in growing Tasmania’s community and economy, and helps to inspire our next generation of STEM leaders.

Applications close on Monday, 26 September 2022 and can be submitted at https://www.stategrowth.tas.gov.au/business/sectors/science_research/tasmanian_stem_excellence_awards_2022
