Delivering more support to Tasmania's Livestock Sector

The Tasmanian Liberal Government is bolstering the state’s animal welfare, biosecurity and product integrity in the livestock sector as part of our First 100-Day Plan.

Recruitment has started for five Biosecurity Tasmania positions across the state with three newly created fixed-term livestock positions, including two state-wide program specialists and a North-West livestock inspector.

In addition, Biosecurity Tasmania is also recruiting two permanent livestock inspectors following natural staff attrition – one based in the North and the other in the South of the state.

These five positions will all contribute to the delivery of Biosecurity Tasmania’s regulatory activities to help protect Tasmania’s primary production industries, environment and way of life.

The positions will work closely with local farmers and livestock service providers to help manage biosecurity risks, uphold primary produce safety, and maintain high standards of animal welfare to allow our livestock sector to continue to prosper.

Applications are now open for all five positions and close on August 16. Anyone with an interest or background in animal biosecurity and welfare and who has a desire to work closely with industry to help deliver beneficial outcomes to the livestock sector, is encouraged to apply.

More information and instructions on how to apply for these positions is available here: www.jobs.tas.gov.au
